AUTHORISED BIOGRAPHY
As a child thespian, B’ee played leading and supporting roles in community theatre (such as Oliver Twist, & The Cheshire Cat) and worked as a model for advertising agencies, appearing in print advertisements and television commercials. His father was in fact an apiarist while on his mother's side he is related to the fourth Prophet of the Mormon Church, Wilford Woodruff, his great, great, great grandfather.
He had his first near death experience at age 5 when hit by a motorcycle, which rendered him airborne and fractured his forehead. He claims that his family home was visited by a flying saucer when he was young and that in later life he has had visitations by “Sound Fairies” and other “Ethereal Creatures” while in the state of Sleep Paralysis.
In 1989 he was admitted to Mercywood Sanitarium (Ann Arbor, Michigan) for mental instability. Shortly after his release he left the Mormon faith in which he was raised, dropped out of high school and left home, commencing upon a nomadic life at age 17. He has lived variously in Michigan, Utah, Minnesota, North Carolina, Washington, Oregon, California, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, West Virginia, Czech Republic, Portugal and Tamil Nadu. He currently lives primarily in the Pacific Northwest and New England between trips to various parts of Europe.
Being rather a generalist by nature, B'ee plays upon a number of instruments including guitar, cittern, folk harp, harmonica, recorder, harmonium, percussion, among a variety of others. Though largely self-taught, he has didactically studied 16th century polyphony, Modern Orchestration and Renaissance Music History under Philip Neuman of Ensemble De Organographia. As an amateur luthier, he designs and fabricates stringed, wind, and percussion instruments as well as refurbishes / repairs old instruments including the American Pump Organ.
In over 15 years as a recording artist, he has released numerous albums of original material for the projects Birch Book and In Gowan Ring, while also collecting renditions of songs in the Folk tradition and collaborating with artists such as Nick Castro, Michael Northam, Stone Breath, Sarah Hepburn, Alio Die, and Italian Filmmaker Francesco Paolo Paladino. He has performed on tours with Fern Knight, Maja Elliot, Woven Hand, Faun Fables and the German band Faun.
